Process
We have been asked about our design process so much that we decided to place it out on the web for you to view!
Our process works like this:
- Contact us! Fill out a questionnare (available online soon-for now you can email or call) developed to help us determine your site's needs
- Price Quote: After reviewing the form and possible contacting you with additional questions we provide a price quote
- Contract/Deposit: Upon agreement we send a contract that stipulates up to three concept designs and you remit a deposit of 50% (except when completed with our payment plan option-call for details)
- Mock Up: We create a mock up of the site using graphics, text placement, and other features we will create
- Preview/Edit Mock Up: You preview the mock up and we work on editing it until it is where you want it to be. We present one concept and if this is not what you want we will create up to two additional concepts.
- We begin! Once we have your okay we begin the site!
- Support! We offer a one hour consultation following the site's implementation to help with such things as learning the email system, control panel and content changes. And of course we always offer email based consultations or questions following a site's design, so you are never left out in the cold once your site is up!
Most sites take about three weeks from start to completion-some less, some more. We make every effort to complete all jobs in a timely manner. We will contact you every few days, if not daily, during this time with updates and previews.
Once the mockup has been completed we place the site online for you to test. Once the site has passed your test and payment has been made in full we transfer the site to your host!
Pricing Guidelines
We are also consistently asked about pricing. This is a tough subject to address because all sites have a unique set of designs to create. Some are Flash heavy, some need a little php, and others a touch of highly designed graphics. Therefore, we are unable to provide an accurate quote until we have discussed the site with you.
We can say this-based on competitors, we do offer sites at a very reasonable rate. And our sites are hand coded rather than generated using a WYSIWIG-where what you see is not always what you get! Call today for a free quote and begin moving your business in the right direction!
Basic Questions
Will I retain rights to my site upon completion? Yes. The site will be yours once we complete the work. This means you will have access to all content, graphics and additions we include. However, if we create graphics or use graphics created by others, the copyrights for those graphics will be held by the original designer.
What is hosting? Hosting is the way in which your files are uploaded and displayed online. Kinetic Solutions offers hosting as do a variety of other companies. You pay hosting as you would pay rent on a home. Your site's files will live with the host.
What is a domain name? This is your website's address. For instance, www.kineticsolutionsservices.com is our domain. You will need this in order to have a site, just as you need a physical address on which to place a house. We sell domain names, or if you pay for one year of hosting you will receive your domain name for free!
Will I be able to maintain my site upon completion? We can do maintenance, you can do maintenance or you can hire an outside person to do maintenance for you. We recommend if you want to make a lot of changes that your site be designed as a content management system, or CMS, using a platform such as Wordpress. This is a free platform that allows you to go in and easily update photos or content.
